How it works

Two taps to set up. Then it's game on.

1

Claim your name

Pick a player name and you're in. No signup wall, no email verification. Link an Apple or Google account later if you want the rating to survive a new phone.

2

Get matched

Matchmaking looks for the closest rating to yours, not a random stranger. Or challenge a friend directly — or anyone at all, by sharing a link.

3

Answer, and win

You both get the same questions. Protect your streak, spend your one Double Down at the right moment, take the match. Then rematch.

Ten categories

Ten categories. Nowhere to hide.

From quantum physics to reality TV. Questions are drawn across every category, so you can't stack the deck with your favourite — and each question carries a rating earned from thousands of real answers, which makes "hard" a measurement rather than a hunch.

Why Quizzer

Built for the competitive type.

Real opponents, on your schedule

No bots filling seats. Every match is against a real player, and because it's turn-based you answer when it suits you — the app nudges whoever is keeping the other waiting.

An honest rating

Chess-style ELO, shown to you exactly as it is, with no cosmetic layer on top. Beat someone rated above you and the jump is bigger.

Brainpower when you're stuck

Spend one Brainpower to strike a wrong answer off the question in front of you. Every new player starts with ten, and the shop is there if you run dry.

Always someone to beat

A fresh challenger is seconds away, at any hour. Matches are short enough to fit between everything else in your day.

Your opponent is already waiting.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Yes. Quizzer is free to download and play. The only thing you can buy is Brainpower, the help that strikes a wrong answer off a question. No ads, no subscription, nothing else for sale.

Always. Every match is against a real player, never a bot filling a seat. You both answer the same questions, so nobody gets an easier set.

No. Matches are turn-based, so you answer when it suits you and your opponent does the same. Each question has its own clock once you start it, but you never have to be in the app together.

Ten, twenty or thirty questions, whichever the challenger picked. Your side of a ten-question match takes a few minutes — and your streak, not your reaction time, decides the score.

Ten of them: Technology, Movies & TV, Music, General Knowledge, Art & Literature, Sports, Science and nature, Geography, History and Entertainment. Questions are drawn across all of them — you don't choose a category before a match.

Just a player name to get started — two quick taps and you're in. You can link an Apple or Google account afterwards so your rating follows you to a new phone.
